"Oases is a collection of art made during the 2019-2020 Corona Virus Epidemic. Artists, along with the rest of the world, are negatively impacted by quarantines, closures, and social distancing, especially those whose major source of income involves teaching classes or working secondary jobs. In the midst of these challenges, artists also suddenly have more time to work, but limited conditions and means with which to do it. Oases is a platform for artists to showcase their work and process as they respond to these unique circumstances, creating a virtual gallery that remains accessible to the public while they are stuck indoors."
For this project, I designed the online platform and social media look and feel, put out a call for entry, juried submissions from national and international applicants, and showcased accepted work on both the website and social media. Thank you to all of the artists who participated.
